Worldwide Dive and Sail own and operate the Siren Fleet of 4 luxury dive liveaboards and the new Master Liveaboards brand. We offer diving safaris across South East Asia & the Pacific to destinations including Indonesia, the Philippines, Palau and Fiji. Whilst we add Galapagos to our hot list, Truk in June 2016 and French Polynesia in 2017!!

Programmer/Systems Administrator

The Programmer/Systems administrator takes care of software development and maintenance programming using PHP/MySQL in a Linux and Windows environment and of hardware and software maintenance of internal workstations (Linux, Windows and Mac) and servers (Linux, Windows, VMWare) and manages multiple collocated servers (Linux). The Programmer/Systems Administrator reports to the IT Manager.

Job responsibilities
  • Work with our software development team to maintain existing software and to develop new software as and when needed;
  • Work with our technical services team to maintain in-house and collocated server (Linux, Windows and VMWare);
  • Work with staff throughout the company to resolve computer-related problems;
  • Work with management within the IT department as well as other departments to design and plan software and hardware systems;
  • Travel to operating location when required to performance hardware and software installation and configuration.

Skills, competencies and experience

Only candidates with the following experience will be considered:
  • Bachelor’s degree with 2 years experience, or equivalent experience in software development and systems maintenance;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English;
  • Experience in modern PHP, MySQL and JavaScript programming (including JQuery);
  • Experience in IP networking systems (LAN/WAN) including management of DHCP services;
  • Proven ability to self-motivate and to work with very minimal supervision;
  • Very detail-oriented.
Candidates with the following experiences will be preferred:
  • Bachelor’s degree with 2 years experience, or equivalent experience in software development and systems maintenance;
  • Ability to communicate in Thai language;
  • Experience with PHP development frameworks, particularly Yii;
  • Proven experience in the management of Linux, Windows and VMWare servers;
  • Specific familiarity with Apache, MySQL and Samba servers, and with ESXi and KVM virtualization systems;
  • Knowledge of load balancing routers (esp Mikrotik) and satellite IP communications (esp KVH);
  • Background in project management methodology (particularly Agile/Scrum) and familiarity with Redmine.
  • Able to travel internationally if required.

Working conditions
Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 17:00 with a 1-hour break.

Travel Consultant

The Travel Consultant handles all domestic travel requirements for WWDAS guests, as well as domestic and international travel requirements for WWDAS staff and business partners. The Travel Consultant reports to the Reservations Manager

Job responsibilities

  • Monitors and responds to all new and current inquiries related to travel;
  • Takes care of the domestic part of the guests’ travel and accommodation requirements as per the Travel Department procedures;
  • Takes care of all domestic and/or international travel requirements for WWDAS staff and business partners as per the Travel Department procedures;
  • Ensures that all Travel documentation such as confirmation documents, pre-cruise documentation, invoices are up to date and correct, and stored in the appropriate place;
  • Works closely with the Accounts department to ensure correct and timely invoicing, payments and reconciling of incoming invoices;
  • Periodically checks accuracy of all travel information in WWDAS internal information resources;
  • Maintains and increases personal knowledge and understanding of Worldwide Dive and Sail destinations through research, work-trips, etc.;
  • Carries out individual projects in line with the position as instructed.

Skills, competencies and experience

  • Good level of spoken and written English
  • Ability to take initiative and make decisions in the Travel Supervisor’s absence
  • Great team player
  • Attention to detail
  • Numeracy to ensure accurate quotes are provided to Reservations and reconciliation to Accounts
  • Previous experience in travel related positions would be a great advantage

Working Hours

Monday to Friday from 10:00 to18:00 with extra Saturdays to be worked based on a rotating schedule (with daily pay) from 09:00-17:00 with a 1-hour break.

Dive Liveaboard Cruise Director

Successful applicants must be able to troubleshoot in a remote location and will have the following attributes:-

  • Experienced Cruise Director/ Tour Leader on a dive Liveaboard (minimum 6 months)
  • Certified, renewed and insured PADI instructor
  • EANitrox Instructor
  • Tec-Diving Knowledge (Tec Diver preferred)
  • Gas-Blender - Nitrox & Tri-mix
  • 2 years+ diving in Siren Fleet destinations within SEA or the Pacific
  • Minimum 500 logged dives
  • Fluent English - additional languages prefered but not essential
  • STCW-95 certified
  • Non-smoker
  • Rebreather diving experience (preferred)
