Departing from Cebu the S/Y Philippine Siren will follow our 6-night/ 7 day Southern Leyte itinerary There will be the opportunity for a check dive at a local site in Cebu before the yacht cruises overnight to Leyte. Once in Leyte our team check with the local municipalites as to the locations where whale sharks are being spotted. The areas we are most likely to see them are Limasawa Bay, San Ricardo and Sunok Bay. Local regulations prohibit diving with the whale sharks, therefore groups will snorkel only - which affords a better opportunity of interaction. Our dive tenders will accompany you to enable quick movement to the sharks location, you then enter the water ahead of the whale shark and wait for it to approach, this minimises the "splash & startle" effect and gives you time to prepare your camera! There will be the opportunity to dive of course and there are numerous stunning dive sites in the area including macro diving at the Padre Burgos Pier and the stunning coral walls at the Napantaw Marine Sanctuary. Whale sharks do not only stay in the shallow bays so you will have the opportunity to spot one whilst diving also!
Join Simon and the Siren Fleet for an amazing adventure in the Philippines and contribute to whale shark conservation!
